Why “Penny Black”?
A barbershop named after the world’s first stamp.
The shop began in an old post office on Lindfield High Street, so Penny named it after the Penny Black, the very first adhesive postage stamp. The little red postbox by the door is no accident.
Today you’ll find us a few doors along in the Old Fire Station House: weatherboard, etched glass, a proper barber pole and a warm welcome. A village fixture since 2015, run by Penny herself.
